After the Interview Magazine Party with My Love MadisonLST wearing Balenciaga Glitter

I have been a West Village/Chelsea girl since I first moved to 16th and 7Th Ave a little over 2 Years ago, the neighborhood has housed all of my best New York memories, tea at The Jane, late nights at Up&Down, and the perfect single girl doll house studio that really was just one big walk-in closet, (when I consider myself the black Carrie Bradshaw I'm not kidding, however I prefer Miu Miu's to Manolos,) but there comes a time in every girls life to make a change. A change from no doors to doors, from all about me to compromises, and from one amazing NYC neighborhood to another. In the next week or so Style&Air will undergo some exciting changes, as well as new adventures for me and my boo in the East Village. Stay Tuned !

OUT DAMN SPOT; Girl Talk

-Weds July 16th, 2014

To Tell or Not to Tell, That is the Question.

The Red Spot

I live in the West Village or Chelsea, I honestly have no idea what it truly is, as it’s NYC and everybody has opinions about neighborhoods. I have admitted on multiple occasions that I have a shopping problem, so when I have 0 extra money to spend on clothes that I don’t need, I go and visit them, touch them, try them, smell them, you get the point. So today on my psychopathic shopping ritual, (Kerrin is sick too, its not just me, I was not alone,) we spotted a woman approaching us in the most beautiful long linen white maxi dress, and Bottaga tote. We gave her the mutual fashion girls “yes, thank you for understanding style,” look and kept it moving. As I looked back, I spotted a spot, a red spot, a period spot ladies, on the dress, so now came the issue, to tell or not to tell. First thought it get a galmponnnn gurrrllll, (for those of you who are not familiar with Glampons, they are a luxury line of gold and diamond tampons my gay husbands and I will be producing, stay tuned. Jk, or am I?) second is ew.  Kerrin and I debated in the street for about 2 minutes, decided the best way to approach the situation. I decided we had to tell her, so the two of us walked up and it went something like this; me: “hi I really hope this doesn’t offend you, but you have a stainnnnnnnnnnnn, a stain on you’re dress.” She was so grateful that we told her, as awkward as the conversation was, so the point is, we must have each other’s backs. If you ever see me anywhere, with a SPOT, please tell me, it’s a lady must. (In the meantime, GLAMPONS get ready to glam up your tampon coming soon to a Barneys near you.. #LOL)

The Keeping It Real 2014 Archives

In a city where thousands of people occupy the concrete streets, and space is limited, its easy to feel overwhelmed and caged in.  My 2013 in New York City were arguably one of the hardest years of my life. A series of growing pains taking the form of self identity, career doubt in a ruthless industry, and overall learning how to be okay when alone and just with my own thoughts. New York City has a way of reminding us, right before all hope is lost, why we all love it here so much.  This city has taught me to see beyond my self limits, and make the choice to thrive.  The city is alive, and filled with talent and energy, art, and love. It’s my favorite place of earth, and overall I’m grateful to live here in the presence of the skyscrapers, and all the strangers I pass everyday.

Here are my 2014 resolutions, I hope that this inspires my readers to reflect honestly on their years and keep it real.

To myself; Remember to walk around the West Village, to venture to the Highline, and see the city that surrounds you. Remember to be grateful for all the amazing opportunities this city has to offer. Remember to love yourself. Remember to see the good in people, even when their surface says otherwise. Stay true to your roots, your heart, and your mind. Continue to learn and inspire. Speak and listen. Imagine and never stop, and most of all never forget how far you have come, and remember to never be scared of how far you're going.

To people I have yet to meet; I hope I can be guided by kindness, and a vulnerability that provokes honestly from others. I hope I can extend myself to be as genuine as possible, and inspire kindness from those I come in contact with.

Sundays Sentiments

-Monday April 28th, 2014

There’s this extreme feeling of gratitude that washes over me on a particular New York Street as I walk the same sentimental Sunday walk I do weekly, and look forward to immensely. It’s an internal beat, a mental clarity, which comes when the city is calm and forgiving. This walk almost seems like a salutation of youth, a bizarre mixture of joy and humility, with a twenty- year- old fear of the future. This Sunday’s Sentiments are about succumbing to the youthful discomfort change brings, learning to embrace joyful moments for just what they are, and living fully present in the experiences that will one day become the coveted memories we re-tell in our elder years.
