Gyms Can Be Weird; The Tale Of My Stalker

The Style | Humor...But Not Really

Modeling is now back in my life, as you well know, so, I spend 6 nights a week at the Equinox on 19th street. There’s a lot going on in there that feels a little off; firstly, my stalker. Yes, I said stalker. A 70 year old man has decided that I am his new Silence Of The Lambs pray, and in the most timely manor, waits at approximately 8:45 “stretching,” outside the woman’s locker room, to talk before I leave to go HOME TO MY BEAUTIFUL BOYFRIEND, (just in case he reads this). I have a best blond friend, who recently came as my guest, and had the pleasure of meeting my stalker. I clearly said under no circumstances do we stop for this man, he could say that the gym is on fire, we were to keep walking. It did not go down as planned. “Claire, I see you, come back here and say hello,” he yelled at my friend and I. Again, I repeat blond friend, then says, “Hi it’s her birthday.” The thing is, there are universal stalker rules. Firstly, you tell you’re stalker NOTHING ABOUT YOURSELF. What was weird, was he then said, “How old are you turning, 16?” This is bad for 2 reasons. First, if I was turning 16, why are you, a 70 year old man, talking to me? Secondly, do I look SOOOO much older than 16, it’s the most implausible age I could be? …insult. The whole thing was just bad. Gyms are for sweating, steaming, and going home. I do not want to be spoken to unless I have my most feared nightmare take place, an Elliptical accident. If you are to witness this, please assist me quietly and non-judgmentally to the nearest cab, and or hospital.

Thank You, Claire.

Fancy Toast

2 Eggs, 1 Cup of Spinich, 3 Cherrie Tomatos, 2 Slices of Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese, 2 Slices of Rye Bead, pinch of spicy salt, pinch of pepper! ... YUM

My mother is a huge fan of cast iron cooking, and over the years has collected quite a few beautiful pans that are so special to our family. When I first moved to my old studio in Chelsea, and started dating my current serious boyfriend, I remember cooking for him in one of my moms tiny cast iron pans that she had gifted to me in the move. We did not know each other very well at that point, and I remember him saying, "thats a nice egg pan you got there, cast iron, fancy pan, I like that." It was weird. As our relationship unfolded, he told me stories of his mom only cooking in cast iron as well, and him being secretly impressed that i had know about the magic cooking tool. So todays Air is fancy toast cast iron style, and the happiness of home.

In My opinion there is nothing chicer than seeing a girl in menswear inspired clothing. It instantly tells the world, your confident enough to take the gender risk, and easy going enough not to care what people think. I’m a comfort freak, and my style is known for being “tomboyish.” I’m interested in the idea of “tomboy glam,” and the UK based brand Ashish is a perfect peek inside melding both worlds. Here’s a look I put together mixing my must have item of the collection, the distressed glitter denim. xxx

On my mind: Learning to ask for what you really want can be one of the most challenging concepts when trying not to offend, or overstep boundaries.  This could be asking for a raise, asking for clarity, or simply asking for help, it comes up everyday, and isn’t going anywhere.

*On My Paws *

I read a lot of reviews about the Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab kit before purchasing it a few days ago, and to be honest it exceeded my expectations. I feel really undone without a nice mani, but it really is a little excessive to get one once a week, at about $25 a pop here in NYC. In College, I taught myself how to do my own nails pretty well, being secluded in the mountains it became my one thing to regain my sanity. The kit is DIY and really easy to use. Buy This Now.
