Gyms Can Be Weird; The Tale Of My Stalker

The Style | Humor...But Not Really

Modeling is now back in my life, as you well know, so, I spend 6 nights a week at the Equinox on 19th street. There’s a lot going on in there that feels a little off; firstly, my stalker. Yes, I said stalker. A 70 year old man has decided that I am his new Silence Of The Lambs pray, and in the most timely manor, waits at approximately 8:45 “stretching,” outside the woman’s locker room, to talk before I leave to go HOME TO MY BEAUTIFUL BOYFRIEND, (just in case he reads this). I have a best blond friend, who recently came as my guest, and had the pleasure of meeting my stalker. I clearly said under no circumstances do we stop for this man, he could say that the gym is on fire, we were to keep walking. It did not go down as planned. “Claire, I see you, come back here and say hello,” he yelled at my friend and I. Again, I repeat blond friend, then says, “Hi it’s her birthday.” The thing is, there are universal stalker rules. Firstly, you tell you’re stalker NOTHING ABOUT YOURSELF. What was weird, was he then said, “How old are you turning, 16?” This is bad for 2 reasons. First, if I was turning 16, why are you, a 70 year old man, talking to me? Secondly, do I look SOOOO much older than 16, it’s the most implausible age I could be? …insult. The whole thing was just bad. Gyms are for sweating, steaming, and going home. I do not want to be spoken to unless I have my most feared nightmare take place, an Elliptical accident. If you are to witness this, please assist me quietly and non-judgmentally to the nearest cab, and or hospital.

Thank You, Claire.

Sundays Sentiments

-Monday April 28th, 2014

There’s this extreme feeling of gratitude that washes over me on a particular New York Street as I walk the same sentimental Sunday walk I do weekly, and look forward to immensely. It’s an internal beat, a mental clarity, which comes when the city is calm and forgiving. This walk almost seems like a salutation of youth, a bizarre mixture of joy and humility, with a twenty- year- old fear of the future. This Sunday’s Sentiments are about succumbing to the youthful discomfort change brings, learning to embrace joyful moments for just what they are, and living fully present in the experiences that will one day become the coveted memories we re-tell in our elder years.

A Rare Closet Moment

The Beast!

Acne Skin 5 Denim = Life

Conquering ones closet is just that, conquering ones closet.  I have a lot less clothes than people think I would, (accusations), but I like it that way. There will be the pieces I never ever in life will sell or get rid of I.E. vintage YSL tuxedo jacket,  & camel wide leg silk trousers, or the black Fendi mini velvet bag I love so much, but its important to make the boundaries clear on what you like for 10seconds, and what you will wear for a lifetime.  Right now, and hopefully for the rest of my life, I’m in a minimal color, denim and leather, white tee stage. It’s funny because when you look at the inside images of my clothing racks here, all you see is color, but in reality I only break that stuff out for fashion month, and live in Acne the rest of the time.  So how does one take the jump and really get rid of what they don’t need or wear?

1.Try everything on in front of a panel of friends. Majority rules, then its gone!

Dear Karlie Kloss, I'm Sick of Your Face

Dear Karlie Kloss,

I respect that fact that you are one of the most beautiful girls in the world, that you have “limbs that could kick Jesus,” and you even make nice jeans. However, I’m writing to inform you I’m really sick of seeing you’re face, EVERYWHERE. Each month I get a new Vogue hoping to see the newfound talent that they deem worthy of the editorial pages, but it’s always YOU. And I feel you; you’re like a fine wine, gets better with age …but what’s wine without cheese sometimes?  A little variation, you know? You can’t answer that question because it was very clear to me after I saw your nude spread in Vogue Italia, you have probably never tasted cheese. Maybe this is more a profession of my love for you and your discipline; I like cheese, a lot.

You probably don’t remember that time we met. You were strutting through Nolita like the Amazon princess you are; casual, alone, I said “hi” and walked by; it was hugely relevant. What I'm saying Karlie, is I’m a fan of yours, always will be, but right now can you stick to making “Karlie’s Kookies” somewhere dark and pressless, and let someone else get an editorial? That is all, stay tall!

Best Regards,

Claire

P.S. If you ever find yourself in a bookstore, please pick up a copy of my memoir titled; “I Put Whip Cream On Someone & They Weren’t Mad.”

My Model Essentials
My Model Essentials

Today a few of my “model essentials” were featured all the way from the UK via Lenis Model Management. Its a safe bet that my go-to model outfit is distressed denim, a Wang tee, and the perfect Burberry leather. The PS1 by Proenza Schouler lends just enough space for my book and a pair of heels. Im a strong believer in investing in a good bag, as well as the perfect leather jacket #Lifetimeofbliss. xxx
