10 Beauty Products Every Woman MUST Own

As the newly minted beauty contributor at  The Wild Magazine, I think it’s appropriate to share the 10 beauty essentials I feel every woman must have. For anyone that knows me, there are two things I have minor obsessions with: Agent Provocture Lingerie and Sephora. It’s pretty safe to say that any given Sunday afternoon, I'll be in either place playing with the newest products. That said, Sephora is hands down my go to place for two reasons. Firstly, they let you return anything and everything after using it. Who does that? It’s incredible! If you buy something that made your face weird, or just wanna be a cheapo, you can at Sephora! I went through their inventory and picked out exactly what’s in my medicine cabinet. I think makeup should be simple, clean, and minimal. Ladies, focus on your actual skin and taking care of that, not on covering imperfections! Products aside there is one more SUPER important component to makeup. Eyebrows! I have recently discovered eyebrow tinting, its vegetable based dye that makes your brows super full and lush, the perfect accent to flawless skin! Boom Boom Brow Bar in Chelsea is my monthly haunt. Check it out here!

NEW Contributing Writer & Resident Male Authority

Chandler Craig will be joining Style&Air as a contributing writer and resident male authority on arts and lifestyle in the big city. Here’s his opinion on the challenges straight men face when approaching fashion!

I’d say the eternal challenge of men’s fashion is how to stand out without looking too flamboyant or, in other words, how to simultaneously rock your personal flare and maintain your “manliness”. Most men give up on this daunting balancing act before they even try and end up dressing like Apple executives for the entirety of their sad, bland lives, an act that’s only truly admissible if you’re worth >1bil. In my opinion, it’s actually not all that difficult to be un-narcissistically unique. It’s all about being subtly captivating with a bit of thematic intent. In my case, I usually put on a cool pair of socks before all else, then wear whatever I have that a) makes sense with my sock choice and b) is clean and wrinkle-less. If I’m trying to step it up a little more than the next wrinkle-free man with a nice pair of socks and cuffed jeans (to showcase the socks of course), I’ll wear a single dark color with a colorful Hawaiian or otherwise patterned shirt popping out from my top sweater layer. The elements of surprise and nonchalance are the intended effects. I walk into a party, slowly unzip my navy blue jacket that I’m wearing with navy blue jeans and BOOM, a red floral shirt collar is folded neatly over a navy blue sweater. “Phew,” a relieved crowd of party-goers thinks, wiping the embarrassed-for-you sweat from their foreheads, “For a second we thought this navy blue dude was boring and not worth anyone’s time”. I smirk, walking to the bar to order a drink next to a solid 8.5. I sit on a stool. She looks down at my bending knees retracting my jeans enough to reveal the entirety of my dolphin print socks. She looks further down, then quickly up into my confident hazel eyes, and smiling declares, “I’m originally from Miami.”

An Urban Gypsy Princess

Founder of CATiD Kerrin Smith leaves a trail of glitter and inspired similes in her wake, on a grander mission to inspire the masses to be “Cool and Thoughtful,” through her business CATID. She successfully practices a lifestyle of accountability and thoughtful interaction regarding the fashion world as her custom one of a kind shirt brand grows. Kerrin lives and breathes what she preaches, and I had the most amazing tea at the Jane Hotel with the self proclaimed “Urban gypsy princess”. From her glitter half moon mani, down to the lace biker shorts, she has always lived up to the title, looking eternally chic and inspired. But what is CATiD? Kerrin describes it best on her website sighting, “CATiD is a project committed to causing a shift from passive consumerism to responsible global citizenship. Rooted in core principles of recognizing interdependence, being accountable, and valuing peace, CATiD looks to spark a second shift from fashion as a medium of exclusion to a medium of inclusion”.

The brand is growing at an astonishing pace for a young newcomer but I would expect nothing less from someone so committed to making a fashion change. Huge brand collaborations are in the works for this New York Jolie, and I can’t wait to witness the trail of glitter she leaves behind. The first collection of shirts is two shirts away from being sold out on CATid.net’s boutique (link below), and her next line will start production sometime in January. I was lucky enough to get one of the last pieces from the collection, and will forever cherish the hand written tags, custom designed bag, and Harley embellished tee that carries its own story, all documented in its packaging. A special brand and an equally special girl!  Get your very own tee here on CATiD
